The Lands Office Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Lands and Resources Department, as requested. The Lands Assistant will learn community development and management of resources.

Reports to: Lands Manager
Wage Grid Range: $21.05 - $23.85 an hour based on experience.

Duties:
• Typing various letters and documents, as requested.
• Prepare for and attend Lands Committee meetings, record, take minutes and provide support.
• Assist in the preparation of the Lands Department’s monthly reports, if needed.
• Assist client with Reserve Land applications.
• Distribute Lands Committee Bulletins and arrange for mail-out or delivery on reserve.
• Prepare and organize for membership Lands meetings.
• Develop and maintain a Reserve Lands filing system.
• Assist in registration of Reserve Land instruments into the Registry System.
• Other relevant tasks as may be necessary.
Required Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:
• Minimum of Grade 12 with other relevant training and education.
• Knowledge of Nak’azdli Whut’en culture, traditions and language preferred.
• Must have strong typing and clerical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office application, Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Must provide clear criminal records check
• Possess a valid BC Class 5 driver's license.
Hours of Work:
Regular office hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm for 7 hours per day up to 35 hours per week. It is expected that
all work will be completed within your regular working hours. However, you may be required from time to time
to work outside your normal hours of work or on weekends.
Working Conditions:
• Meeting people, making phone calls and sending emails.
• Computer usage and sitting for long periods of time.
• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
