Purpose: The NETS Assistant hold responsibility for providing office assistant support in the NETS department and Bladerunner Program. The NETS Assistant will carry out a range of clerical, secretarial and communication roles under the direction of the NETS Coordinator.

Pay Grid Range: $ 21.05 - $24.34 pending on experience
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with typing and filing documents.
- Plan, coordinate and work with workshop facilitators in programming and delivery excellence.
- Meet with community members for resume updates and job searches.
- Oversee participant intake, screening and selection process.
- Ensuring the job boards are updated on a weekly basis.
- Advertise upcoming programs in newsletters, Facebook page and community boards.
- Providing on-going, one-on-one guidance and support to participants.
- Monitoring attendance/addressing issues and concerns with participants.
- Make appropriate referrals to other agencies or interventions if required.
- Collaborate with Industry Training Authority (ITA) representative, apprentice and employers.
- Other tasks as assigned by the NETS Manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Grade 12 education with relevant experience delivering front line services.
- Education in human services, business administration, career development practitioner or other.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Good computer skills and use of MS Office, Word, Outlook, Excel.
- Case management skills, ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent time and organizational management skills along with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of community resources and criteria for accessing them.
- Team building skills and the willingness to work in a team environment.
- Possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
Hours of Work:
Regular office hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Your regular hours of work will be from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 7 hours per day up to 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. It is expected that all work will be completed within your regular working hours, however, you may be required from time to time to work outside your normal hours or work.
Working Conditions:
- Sitting for long periods of time and attending meetings.
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Some driving may be required.
